Nik Hill is a motion graphic designer that works for Territory Studio. He grew up surrounded by graffiti, influenced by Bristolian streets and culture. He would spend endless amounts of time sketching, avoiding TV. When he did was TV he realised that he paid more attention to adverts than the actual programmes, causing him to pursue a career in motion graphics, studying at London Met.
His work began as street art and illustrations but later developed into moving image and time based media. He’s worked on a multitude of big projects, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers and Spy, which leaves me in awe as I’m a huge comic book fan and an avid film go-er. When describing his job the thing he loves the most is that there are projects he’s on that are so gripping he forgets he’s working; it becomes pleasure and enjoyment. However there are also times he finds it tedious as you can be stuck on the same project for a prolonged period of time. Despite this he has a great passion for what he does and you can see it in the work he produces.
He talk was inspiring as we had the chance to meet someone who was in the exactly the same position as us and as become successful through hard work.
